NICE Sedation in children and young people</p><p>Research Paul Polani Prize 2011 BACD & RCPCH are calling for applications to the 2011 Paul Polani Prize, which supports research and innovation in paediatric neurodisability in the UK. Up to £7,500 is available to enable teams to pilot, undertake, or complete research projects based in paediatric neurodisability. Applications may be from teams or individuals (of any discipline). This is your opportunity to start or finish that important piece of research to make a difference for your service and others. The deadline for application submission is noon, Monday 17 January 2011. For more information visit http://www.bacdis.org.uk/awards/ </p><p>Epilepsy12 National Audit The latest news from the Epilepsy12 project is available to download here.</p><p>National call for research proposals in paediatric neuroscience For the first time, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity is making up to £1 million available for applications to fund research in paediatric neuroscience, through a national call open to research centres across the UK. Applications should be for no more than £300,000, and projects no longer than three years in duration. The deadline for submitting completed applications is 5pm, Tuesday 15 March 2011. It is anticipated that funding will be made available to successful applicants from August 2011. For further information, please visit the charity’s website at www.gosh.org/neuroscience. The module is made up of seven case-based learning sessions that cover the knowledge and competencies required for Level 3 Safeguarding. Those participating in this training should complete the introductory session which allows them to design an ongoing training programme suitable to their needs. This may involve a mixture of further sessions from the Maintaining and Updating Competences programme, face-to- face learning and supervision, local and national courses.
