<p> Wildlife Resources Mr. Estridge</p><p>Credit: 1/2</p><p>Grade: 10-12</p><p>Description: This course develops an awareness of wildlife industry resources. The course includes: a study of ecology and ecosystems, wildlife habitat, population dynamics, management techniques that deal with wildlife all areas and the regulations that affect the wildlife industry. Content may be enhanced with appropriate applied scientific laboratory activities and computer applications. Leadership development will be provided through FFA. Each student will be expected to have a supervised agricultural experience program. </p><p>Students will: </p><p>- Analyze dynamics of an ecosystem. - Examine the diverse components of habitat and it’s relation to wildlife. - Calculate the population dynamics that relate to wildlife. - Identify the human role in wildlife and habitat management as it applies to historic, social, political and economic concerns. - Examine the human impact on wildlife experts. - Examine the Federal and State Laws and Regulation that pertain the conservation and preservation of wildlife. </p><p>Required Materials FFA Dues $20 Blank Notebook Paper 1’’ 3 ring binder Pencil or Pen (Blue or Black)</p><p>Methods of Grading</p><p>Grades will be divided up into four categories all weighted equally. Participation…25% Class work & Homework…25% Quizzes…25% Exams…25% This class will consist of many hands-on activities. Every hands-on activity we do, a participation grade will be taken. Attitude and willingness to work will be considered! I will always announce at least one day in advance when we may be “getting dirty”, so dress appropriately. </p><p>Homework Policy </p><p>All homework assigned should be completed and turned in the next day of school or upon the return of the student to school unless otherwise instructed. </p><p>Make-Up Policy</p><p>An unexcused absence will result in an automatic zero for the day of the absence. If the absence is excused it is the STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY to contact the instructor within 3 SCHOOL DAYS upon returning to school. Failure to contact the instructor will results in a zero for all assignments missed. </p><p>Make-up work will be located & labeled in the according tray or my web site. Students should go straight there to find their work and turn it back in the tray within three days. If you need help, you need to ask me for help.
