<p> PROGRESS REPORT #7</p><p>December 5, 2011 – March 4, 2012</p><p>Use of Dynamic Traffic Assignment in FSUTMS in Support of Transportation Planning in Florida (Research BDK80 TWO #977-12)</p><p>Submitted by: Mohammed Hadi, Principal Investigator Florida International University</p><p>Activities Performed this Quarter </p><p>1. The research team continued coordination with FDOT project manager and the DTA subcommittee of the Model Task Force (MTF), through conference calls. In addition, the research team presented the intermediate results of the research to the FDOT project manager and staff through web-based power point presentations. The research team also presented the results to the model task force in its meeting in Orlando.</p><p>2. The research team finalized the testing of three DTA tools (Cube Avenue, DynsuT, and Transim) and the Cube static assignment according to the identified requirement catalog produced earlier in the project. The documentation of the test results is in the process of being finalized.</p><p>3. The research team continued the development of the modules of a tool to support traffic assignment modeling in Florida, tentatively referred to as the “Integrated Support System of Traffic Assignment (ISSTA).” </p><p>4. The static O-D matrix estimation originally developed by Jim Fennessy for the Florida Turnpike is being converted to be used as a module as part of ISSTA by Fennessy and Associates. This task is ongoing. </p><p>5. The research team continued the development of calibration methodology and utilizing the methodology in calibrating a portion of the I-95 corridor network in Miami in Cube Avenue to demonstrate the development and calibration of DTA models.</p><p>6. The research team continued working with Citilabs on the enhancement to the O-D estimation model including increasing the tool efficiency and convert the code from Fortran to C.</p><p>Activities Planned for Next Quarter</p><p>1.
