<p> LINKS PROMISE 2014/2015</p><p>Dear Link,</p><p>Congratulations and thank you for joining the LINKS (Learning to Inspire New Kinds of Support) program, you are in for a wonderful learning experience that will stay with you long after you have graduated. Read the LINKS PROMISE/GUIDELINES, initial the line in front of each statement then date and sign your name on the back.</p><p>I, ______, promise to responsibly fulfill my duties, as a (PLEASE PRINT YOU NAME CLEARLY!) LINK. I will follow the requirements listed below to the best of my abilities.</p><p>AS A LINK:</p><p>_____I will show up with a smile on my face and a great attitude every day. Leave your problems at the door, if you are having a bad day; please feel free to talk to me at any time. I care about each of you and want to be a support for you. But, our students need you to be positive and upbeat when you are with them.</p><p>_____ I will protect the dignity of my student at all times.</p><p>_____ I will not share personal/private information regarding any link student. </p><p>_____ I will attend all of the mandatory weekly meetings. Each meeting is worth 20 points.</p><p>_____ I will not use my own personal electronics during my LINK hour (i-pods, i-phones, cell phones, etc).</p><p>_____ I will only use text if contacting an adult (Mrs. Basore or Mrs. Applegate) regarding a question or situation with my student.</p><p>_____ I will be a good, attentive friend to the student I am linked with.</p><p>_____ I will model appropriate behavior with the student I am linked with at all times. This includes; not distracting other students in the class, keeping my head off of the desk, listening/working attentively, and staying awake, among other things.</p><p>Revised 10-27-2014 LINKS Promise _____ I understand that each student is unique and requires different levels and types of support. I will support the student I am linked with socially, academically, and behaviorally in the way that I am taught and trained by Mrs. Basore and Mrs. Applegate.</p><p>_____I will be 100% involved in and engaged with the student who I am working with. I will be with my student at all times during the hour that I am a LINK. My focus will be on my student. </p><p>_____If the student I am LINKED with is absent, I will report directly to Mrs. Basore/Mrs. Applegate.</p><p>_____ I will not use social media to post any negative comments about anything having to do with Haslett High School, The LINKS Program, or individuals involved.</p><p>_____ I will not socialize with other students or be disruptive during time in class with my student. However, if there is social time within the class, I will socialize with my LINK and encourage others to socialize with us.</p><p>_____I have read the syllabus and finals guidelines and understand them.</p><p>_____As a LINK I will report to my LINK hour ON TIME! I will not leave my LINK hour before the bell rings. In other words, just like any other class, I am required to be present in the class from bell to bell.</p><p>_____I will write any planned absences on the board in the designated area.</p><p>_____For any last minute absences (i.e. sick, family emergency)I will text or call both Mrs. Basore and Mrs. Applegate PRIOR to my LINK hour. I realize that failure to do so will result in a “strike”. If I receive 3 “strikes” I will be removed from the LINKS program temporarily to complete a probationary contract. Upon return my LINKS assignment, if I receive 3 “strikes” again, I will receive an E grade for the semester and I will not be allowed into the LINKS program again.</p><p>I understand and agree to follow all of the stated rules. </p><p>______Date ___/___/______(LINKS SIGNATURE & DATE) (MRS.
