<p>MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDATE RELEASE Friday 7 September 2012</p><p>Nature’s best on show at ANGAIR</p><p>This year’s ANGAIR Wildflower and Art Show promises to delight young and old alike by showcasing the local area’s natural beauty and wonder in ways that will educate, entertain and engage.</p><p>As in previous years, the Anglesea Memorial Hall in McMillan Street will be awash with plants, animals, people, displays, food and activities throughout the two-day show on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 September.</p><p>With the region’s indigenous plant and animal life firmly in the spotlight, the stunning array of beautiful local wildflowers and orchids on display in the hall will no doubt captivate many patrons. Those who wish to enhance their show experience can also join a free bus trip or guided walk to explore such plant life in its natural environment.</p><p>For younger showgoers, the opportunity to get up close and personal with crocodiles, dragons, snakes, frogs, lizards, turtles and other creatures could be the order of the day, compliments of the ‘Roaming Reptiles’ crew. </p><p>The ever popular ‘Connies’ return with their much sought-after collectible swap cards and compelling stories, featuring Australia’s flora and fauna, while a puppeteer will mesmerise little ones with her collection of Aussie animal puppets.</p><p>The Art Show is shaping up as a boon for art lovers with this year seeing a new section introduced for local high school students. Book lovers can look forward to finding a bargain at the second hand book stall, especially if they’re hunting for books about gardening, plants or birds. </p><p>Art and craft stalls, the show café and sausage sizzle, indigenous plant sales, information, advice and demonstrations relating to invasive weeds and indigenous plants are among the many other activities that will be on offer. Patrons will also be encouraged to bring along a weed or two to swap for a free indigenous plant via ANGAIR’s popular ‘Weed Swap’ program.</p><p>The ANGAIR Wildflower and Art Show will be open from 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 September 2012 at the Anglesea Memorial Hall, McMillan Street, Anglesea.
