<p> Alouette Elementary Phone: 604-463-8730 FAX: 604-463-3281</p><p>Parent input regarding student placement for 2017-2018</p><p>Please complete and return this form to the school office by Tuesday, May 30 th , 2017 </p><p>The purpose of this request is to give you the opportunity to provide input on the types of learning conditions you feel are best for your child.</p><p>You can turn this form into the office, or you can e-mail it to me at [email protected]</p><p>Please remember the following points as you complete this form: </p><p>1. We cannot accept requests for specific teachers. Many times, we will not know who is teaching specific grades until the start of school. </p><p>2. Teachers have been asked to avoid suggesting specific class placements with parents. If a teacher does indicate a specific classroom would be “good” for your child, you cannot take this as a guaranteed placement. If a different placement ends up being made, it is because teachers feel this will ultimately be best for your child.</p><p>3. This form will be shared with staff during placement meetings, and will be considered along with the many other sources of information we bring to our meetings. If specific teacher requests are included, we cannot share this form at our meeting.</p><p>4. We strive to provide a quality-learning environment for each student, given the many criteria we need to consider when placing students in classes. Our ultimate objective is to create balanced classrooms for both teachers and students. </p><p>5. We do try to place students with a friend; however, this is only one of many factors for consideration when placing students.</p><p>6. Combined classes will occur in certain grades. Sometimes this is out of necessity, and sometimes this is by design. Some parents ask that we do not place their child in a combined class; however, we will not guarantee these requests will be accommodated.
