<p>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Tina Cadet 212.297.2122</p><p>HFPA FOUNDATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS</p><p>New York, NY (May 18, 2011) –The Home Fashion Products Association (HFPA®) Foundation has granted five $1,000 and seven $500 scholarships to students enrolled in courses focused on home textile surface design. The recipients attend the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and Philadelphia University; they are: Ashley Alford, Frank Gargione, Marjan Gartland, Catherine Gleason, Rachel Hawkins, Isabelle Kolegnako, Kimberly Leidner, Kayleigh Martin, Lara Nasifoglu, Neekika Paul, Hilary Pharr and Naoko Tanabe. </p><p>Scholarship applicants are judged on their knowledge and interest in the home fashions industry; during the application process the students are asked to present details of internships or apprenticeships they have held and are encouraged to express their aspirations and goals. Submissions are judged by a panel of industry experts.</p><p>About HFPA®—The Home Fashion Products Association (HFPA®) serves to advance the growth of the global home fashion Industry by setting standards for excellence through technical product compliance, advocacy, and awareness efforts.
