<p> Oral Tasks for the Third Term IES SANTA MARIA DE ALARCOS </p><p>3º ESO/4º ESO</p><p>Choose ONE of these tasks: </p><p>1. Two television commercials </p><p>( 1, 2 or 3 students per group)</p><p>Prepare two television commercials selling something, it doesn't have to be an object, you may also sell an idea or campaign for an NGO or a charity</p><p>1. Write a script. Prepare a copy for your teacher who will correct the script before you act it out.</p><p>2. Each video should be 1 to 3 minutes long and you should choose the music, make up, background and text carefully. </p><p>3. Your spots must be funny, interesting and/ or beautiful</p><p>4 They will be first shown in class and followed by questions from the teacher and classmates, this will be a very important part of the evaluation of this task</p><p>5. If selected, your spots may be shown in the end of the year festival in May.</p><p>2. A home shopping television show</p><p>( 1, 2 or 3 students per group)</p><p>The purpose of this project is to create and record a video showing yourself/yourselves trying to sell something as in a typical home shopping television show.</p><p>1. Write a script. Prepare a copy for your teacher who will correct the script before you act it out.</p><p>2. Rehearse and study the script before recording it.</p><p>3 The video should be 5 to 10 minutes long, and one of you will be the host/hostess</p><p> a) introduce yourself.</p><p> b) describe what you are going to sell and show it. Interview one or several owners of the product you are selling</p><p> c) describe the object that you are selling, its advantages and the reason why everyone should have one.</p><p> d) explain how to use it. Make a demonstration. 4. Prepare to answer a few questions on what you have shown.</p><p>Evaluation criteria:</p><p>Acting Max : 1 point The student is a good actor/actress He /she is convincing/ funny/ moving He/she is easy to understand Relevance Max : 1 point His/her character is important He/she is on the screen long enough</p><p>English Max : 1 point His/her grammar during acting is good He/she uses correct vocabulary He/she pronounces correctly in general His/her intonation is good Others Max : 1 point He /she has taken part in the editing or any other tasks in the film.</p><p>Understanding questions Max : 2 points The student understands the question Doesn’t need repetition or rephrasing</p><p>Answering questions Max : 2 points The student uses good English in general Doesn’t answer yes/no Doesn’t use Spanish Story and script Max 2 points Is it interesting /funny /moving?</p><p>Technical aspects The final appearance of the film Is good There are special effects and/or interesting settings</p><p>Deadlines: Your script must be ready on the 31st March ( or 1st of April if you haven't got an English class on the 31st) Your videos must be finished and given to your teacher on the 22nd of April. Remember that your teacher has no part in your technical problems and no reason to accept a delayed task because of technical reasons. If your video is not finished or cannot be seen by the dates mentioned above, you will fail this test. So make sure that your copy works some days before the deadline. </p><p>Please use a CD for the final version of the commercials, memory sticks are often cause all kinds of technical trouble. </p>
