Fostering Entrepreneurship: UNFFD Workshop

<p> DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS Financing for Development Office</p><p>Workshop on “Fostering Entrepreneurship in Africa” (Monastir, Tunisia, 9 June 2006)</p><p>African Investment Advisory (AIA), in partnership with Junior Chambers International (JCI) and with support from the Financing for Development Office (FFDO) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, are organizing a workshop to address barriers to business activity with particular focus on Africa, including bureaucracy, skills, and finance. This event will be held on 9 June 2006, during the JCI annual Africa conference in Monastir, Tunisia, whose principal theme is “Entrepreneurs in action for global solidarity: The worldwide solidarity funds.” The objective of the workshop is to share best practices, identify gaps, and to develop ideas and new initiatives to tackle the barriers to SME growth, including advocacy with governments and donors, where required.
