Are characters put to a test? Do any characters get help from a magical creature? Is honesty or cleverness rewarded? Is the foolishness or evil punished? Are any characters transformed into something better? Do characters marry into royalty? Do characters live happily ever after? Was magic used in the Fairy tale? How? Who was the hero or main character of the tale? What characters were mean? Kind? What lesson was learned? Did one or more of the characters live happily ever after? Who and why?</p><p>Illustrations are also used to help to “tell” the story. As I read aloud a fairy tale, choose three scenes to illustrate by hang.</p><p>1. Read the selection of fairy tales required and fill out the Fairy Tale Themes worksheet. 2. Analyze four fairy tales that are unfamiliar to you and identify recurring themes using the comparing Fairy Tales Chart provided. 3. Fill out a Fairy Tale Book Report on another fairy tale you have not yet read. 4. Out like a Story Map for your own fairy tale, including standard story elements and fairy tale themes. 5. Write your own fairy tale, based on your story map. Include some color illustrations to help tell your story.
