<p> TASK ANALYSIS </p><p>SKILL: Overhand Serve - Volleyball</p><p>VISUAL DESCRIPTION: Start with non-dominant foot facing the net. Position ball in the palm of the non-dominant hand with arm fully extended toward net. Loft toss the ball straight up, just above the highest point the servers reach. Step forward shifting weight to the non-dominant foot while rotating the arm around, leading with the elbow. Contact the ball with an open firm hand at the highest point just in front of the body. Needs an increase in difficulty from 6th to 7th grade.</p><p>Cognitive 1 – 6th grade – Students will verbally recite the four most critical points of the overhand serve when asked. 7th grade - Students will write from memory the four most critical points of the overhand serve on a written assessment.</p><p>Personal Social 1 – 6th grade - Students will cooperate with each other by sharing the volleyballs when practicing serving. 7th grade - Students will cooperate with each other by sharing the volleyballs when practicing serving. Needs an increase in difficulty from 6th to 7th grade.</p>
