<p>Date: October 10, 2013 To: GASFAA Executive Board Fr: Amber Singletary, Diversity and Community Action Chair Re: Fall Board Meeting</p><p>Committee Members: </p><p>Angie Wilson-GA Student Finance Commission Deborah Clark-Atlanta Technical College Heather Ford-Chattahoochee Technical College Janice Balte-University of West Georgia Joseph Boyles-University of Georgia Lauren Schlesinger-University of Georgia Rodney Walton-PNC Bank</p><p>Committees Plan of Action: September:  Met with committee members via email to discuss suggestions for this year’s committee.  Posted an introduction/welcome from committee through the Listserv encouraging GASFAA to subscribe to the Grapevine and provided a list of activities for the year.  Met with Angie Wilson and Carol Ann from GSFC to generate ideas for College Goal Georgia; sent a post through the Listserv encouraging schools to participate in this event.  We posted two Grapevine post: Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month and College Savings Month.  Also, registered for the Georgia School Counselor Conference that we be held in November and order brochures for this event. </p><p>October:  Listserv post about Student Loan Default Prevention.  Blog post suggestions: Student Loan Default Prevention; Dyslexia Awareness Month; Down Syndrome Awareness Month.  Brainstorm ideas on how to help build the homeless and foster care student support initiative. </p><p>November:  Georgia School Counselor Association Conference November 13-15.  Blog post suggestions: American Indian Heritage Month.</p><p>December:  Blog post suggestions: Economically Disadvantage students; different religions; Homeless/Foster Care students and how we can support them during college. </p><p>January:  College Yes You Can (with GSFC) January 24.  Blog post suggestions: Poverty in American Awareness; Financial Wellness Month. </p><p>February:  College Goal Georgia (February-March).  Listserv post suggestion: Financial Aid Awareness Month.  Blog post suggestions: Black History Month.  Getting ready for GASFAA Conference (ask for people to start thinking about Silent Auction items) March:  College Goal Georgia.  Blog post suggestions: Women's History Month; Nutrition Month.</p><p>April:  Blog post suggestions: Stress Awareness Month; Physical Wellness; Autism Awareness Month.</p><p>May:  GASFAA Conference-diversity session (possibly).  Silent Auction.  Charity function--Book Drive  Blog post suggestion: Mental Health Month. </p>
