HIGHWAY 544 FROM 13 U.S. HIGHWAY 501 NEAR CONWAY TO THE U.S. 14 HIGHWAY 17 BYPASS AS THE “CORPORAL DENNIS 15 LYDEN MEMORIAL HIGHWAY” IN MEMORY OF 16 CORPORAL DENNIS LYDEN OF THE HORRY COUNTY 17 POLICE DEPARTMENT WHO WAS KILLED IN THE LINE 18 OF DUTY ON JUNE 5, 2000, WHILE SERVING HIS COUNTY 19 AND STATE. 20 21 Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives 22 concurring: 23 24 That the members of the General Assembly request the South 25 Carolina Department of Transportation to name that portion of 26 S.C. Highway 544 from U.S. Highway 501 near Conway to the 27 U.S. Highway 17 Bypass as the “Corporal Dennis Lyden 28 Memorial Highway” in memory of Corporal Dennis Lyden of the 29 Horry County Police Department who was killed in the line of 30 duty on June 5, 2000, while serving his county and State. 31 32 The department is directed to install appropriate markers or signs 33 at places along the highway the department considers advisable 34 containing the words “Corporal Dennis Lyden Memorial 35 Highway”. 36 37 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 38 the family of Corporal Dennis Lyden and the Department of 39 Transportation. 40 ----XX----</p><p>1 [309] 1</p>
