<p>Here are the definitions for the Reading 3D acronyms:</p><p>FSF - First Sound Fluency (segmenting first sound or sounds of a word; Teacher gives word, student tells first sound or sound, ex. Teacher says, “friend”; student says /f/ or /f/ /r/ or “fr”)</p><p>LNF- Letter Naming Fluency (correctly identifying letters by name)</p><p>PSF- Phoneme Segmentation Fluency (segmenting sounds in a word, “cat”= /c/ /a/ /t/)</p><p>NWF- Nonsense Word Fluency Correct Letter Sounds, CLS=decoding according to phonemes; “v”“u””s”=/v/ /u/ /s/ and Whole Words Read, WWR= blending the sounds into words, “vus”</p><p>DORF & RTF- Oral Reading Fluency and Retell Fluency (words per minute, accuracy, retelling)</p><p>DAZE -DIBELS MAZE (Students read a passage and select words to fill in blanks)</p><p>TRC -Text Reading Comprehension (reading continuous text-teacher records errors, checks comprehension with retelling, oral comprehension questions and written comp. questions)</p><p>WR -Word Recognition—(sight words)</p>
