<p> State Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Committee February 13, 2014 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. MnDOT Central Office </p><p>Members present: Paul Frenz, Andrew Korsberg, Jason Artley, Randy Oppelt, Nick Mason, Danny McCullough, Larry Killien, Gayle Junnila, Muhammad Khan, Anne Johnson, Kelly Wosika, Shannon Swanson, Heidi Schallberg, Tom Engstrom and Steve Brisendine</p><p>Members absent: Dan Breva, Andy Mueller, Emma Pachuta, Rich Tauer, Pete Connor, Larry Killien, Steve Sanders, Steve Elmer, Mark Vizecky, Amber Dallman and Tim Anderson</p><p>Staff present: Tim Mitchell, Jasna Hadzic, Liz Walton, Mary Jackson, Stephen Hannon and Michelle Musser</p><p>Others: Landon Bouma</p><p>Call to order, introductions and updates Danny McCullough called the meeting to order and welcomed those present. Jason Artley moved to approve the September and November meeting minutes. Jenny Smith seconded.</p><p>Staff updates Tim Mitchell informed the group of changes affecting the bicycle and pedestrian section: - Kathleen Mayell departure - 2014 work plan</p><p>Cyclopath update and exercise Landon Bouma provided information on the statewide expansion of Cyclopath. He also walked the group through the application and explained the data, associated issues and user input. Additional options include observing specific activity or roadways and being alerted to changes. </p><p>Bike MN updates Nick Mason provided updates on the following activities: - National Bike Summit - Minnesota Bike Summit - Legislative items - SRTS teacher curriculum training - Upcoming LCI trainings - Bicycle driver’s manual</p><p>Pedestrian Plan - Phase 1 presentation Jasna Hadzic updated the committee on Phase 1 of the Pedestrian Plan. She noted the various reasons to plan for pedestrians including, health impacts, economics and demographics. In addition, this plan will align with other MnDOT initiatives. She also detailed the goals, objectives and deliverables of the Plan. </p><p>Work group breakout sessions and updates Share the Road and education - Drivers education curriculum - POST curriculum - Develop a PowerPoint on STR for use by district representatives and others - Radio ads - Minnesota Newspaper Association - Present to civic groups - Frostbike and Free Bikes for Kidz - Create a document on how to use STR materials - Expand our market to Target and other retailers - Illinois DOT bicycle safety video - Provide hangtags to district representatives for distribution</p><p>Technical (bicycle drivers manual) - BikeMN will be the lead - Model after the League of Michigan Bicyclists manual - Integrate Paul’s version - Finalize by the end of the year</p><p>Other Danny McCullough informed the group of his recent success with the Minnesota Police Officer Standards and Training Board. POST agreed to include bicycle and pedestrian information into law enforcement academy curriculum.</p><p>Adjourn The meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m.</p>
