<p> PHA HIGH POWER MATCH MATCH RESULTS 22 Aug 2015 The August HP match is now history. We had 8 competitors on a great day for a match. The sighting in started about 0940 and we finished the match about 1230. There were several personal high scores shot Saturday, and everybody did well. Blake Edward from Hickory made his first match at PHA a good one. He was match winner with a 472-9x. Chris Rothrock was second with a 461-6x. Wayne Hemphill was shooting optical sights and had the high score in that category with a 467-7x. We had one junior competitor, Lila Evans, who came close to her personal high, after about a year away from shooting, with a 380-3x.</p><p>We would like to encourage anyone who has a son or daughter, friend or neighbor’s youth, or group (school, scout, JROTC) who is interested in competition to come out for some of our remaining matches. We go slow and easy, with plenty of encouragement and as much coaching as needed to help the young people learn to shoot safely as well as becoming competitive and enjoying themselves. Our rules are that the first match of the year for any junior shooter is a free entry. PHA picks up the tab for the NRA fees as well. After that the cost is only $10.00 which covers the NRA and cost of targets, etc.</p><p>Our next match will be the THIRD SATURDAY (19 September 2015) to keep from conflicting with PHA Open House on 26 Sept. We will be at the range during the Open House to let anyone see what the targets, rifles, and positions are, as well as a having some hands-on firing with coaches who are match shooters and/or instructors. October’s match will be the forth Saturday (17 Oct 2015) as usual, but then we drop back to the third Saturday, for the final 2015 match, in November (21 Nov 2015) to avoid Thanksgiving weekend. As a reminder, the club does have a couple of AR Match rifles for someone to use who doesn’t have one and would like to try out this type of shooting. Ammo is also available for sale, since rules require the use of factory ammo in club rifles.</p><p>Match results are listed below.
