<p> AUDITION INFORMATION</p><p>Auditions are being held at Bloomington Junior and Senior High Schools on Monday, October 13 approximately 8:30-11:30 am. If you are sending students, you are expected to attend. We need everyone’s help on this day either auditioning or supervising the Jr. High rehearsal. Plan to arrive before 8:00 so we can get started on time. Auditioners should plan to meet in the auditorium to receive the audition packet. There will be a meeting on the procedures.</p><p>Audition Procedures Jr. High: Students need to have all the pieces with them for the auditions and rehearsal. They will be auditioned on excerpts from the music. No scales are required. The students need to bring folding music stands and a pencil. The students will be in rehearsal during the time they are not actually auditioning. The rehearsal/auditions are 8:30-11:30. Students are required to attend the entire rehearsal!</p><p>High School: Major scales-C, G, D, A, E, F, Bb, melodic minor scales-c, g *Scales are 3 octaves for violin, viola, cello and 2 octaves for bass *Scales must be played at the minimum tempo: quarter note = 120, ascending and descending, detached bowing. Scales do not need to be memorized, according to All State audition procedures. “Academic Festival Overture”: Brahms **State required excerpt: New this year! Sightreading </p><p>**Please tell your bass players to sign up for auditions between 8:30 and 10:00 only.</p><p>I need people to help audition at both the Jr. High and High School levels. I have tried to get some people from outside the schools to help. We decided in the past to use two auditioners for the high school and the Jr. High when available. </p><p>This is who I have so far. If your name is on this list and you are NOT available, let me know immediately so I can fill your spot. Junior High (Audition Monitor: If you are not auditioning or have a student teacher, please help with this. ) Violin 1: Melissa O’Neal and Liz Fontana Violin 2: Sara Garrett and Rob Reilly Viola: Kim Martin-Boyd and Benita Lewis Cello/Bass: Bridget Nelson and Ryan Fitzpatrick</p><p>High School Violin Excerpts: Laura Hourt and Sarah Gentry Violin Scales: Lisa Nelson and Melissa Siebenthal Viola: Margot Ehrlich and Tamra Gingold Cello: Rodney Mueller and Adriana Ransom Bass: Rick Murphy and Katrina Cessna</p><p>Please understand this is subject to change. If your name is not listed, we will need you to supervise auditions so they move along. I will have audition excerpts chosen and marked for all auditioners on Oct.13. </p><p>If you are auditioning, you will rank the students, assign the best player the highest number and go down from there (70, 69, 68, etc.) Bring your list to the library, find me and we will enter scores in the computer. Finally, you will need to see Wally Parks to get paid. </p><p>Depending on how the rehearsal and audition rooms are set up, please make arrangements with your students ahead of time on where to meet you and where you will be located in case of an emergency.</p><p>I hope this information is clear and answers questions you may have.
