Manually Entering G-code Programs</p><p>Thus far we have relied upon the automated features of BobCad/Cam and Boxford CAM software. However, there are times when G-code has to be developed and modified to accomplish unusual tasks that the automated tools can neither detect nor compensate.</p><p> Open Boxford CAD/CAM Application Select 190VMCxi On the MENU bar select <Settings>, <Current User>, <Advanced User> It will ask for a Password, leave it blank, select <OK> The G&M top icon is now active and can be pressed to generate G-code manually Select the G&M top icon Material Type: select <ALU> Workpiece dimensions: X<75>, Y<75>, Z<25) Metric: checked Notice the arrows to the right of “Metric”, this allows for other shapes of billet <OK> You can now enter G and M codes manually and simulate your program Pressing the Play button runs the entire program Chapter 10 discussed how to use Word Address Programming (G&M codes) MT 211L Lab 10: Word Address Programming Page 3 of 5</p><p>2. G and M code Exercises</p><p>As 3-person teams:</p><p>Within the laboratory time allowed research each G and M codes sequentially (see Appendix B) develop a CNC Programming Sheet to exercise the code being investigated use any available resources for learning to use each G and M code o Document where the information came from in your PMB enter your code into any one of the Boxford Workstation software applications o All of the workstations have the identical software o If you have developed an understanding as to how to enter G&M codes using BobCad/Cam software, your team can work on any of the BobCad/Cam workstations to complete these projects Write in English sentences how to implement each of the code combinations, and anything of special interest Enter ALL of the above information into your PMB under Project 10 (Lab 10)</p><p>4.
