<p> 2018 Skills, Thrills, Chills- Winter Klondike Theme- Space Games– D-A Scout Ranch 1-20-2018</p><p>250+ Boy Scouts, Cubs and Webelos will compete for the trophy in the annual Klondike to race their dogsled and participate in 12 space games. Troops will have a chance to build and sleep in a polar bear shelter / try a dutch – oven for cooking contest / </p><p>Games: Scoring- rules. </p><p>1. DEATH STAR TARGET / each patrol has team members spread out for relay type game to pass off ammo to front shooter-slingshot. Shooter can not go past radiation line. Event is timed.. Does not matter how many patrol members. 10 pts each hit- 10 shots total. Patrol flag and yell count for 0 to 5 bonus points. </p><p>2. ALIEN TARGETS / using golf balls- 3 throws at various “bad guys”. Colored targets and total of 15 balls. 5 pts – each hit. Patrol flag and yell count for 0 to 5 bonus points.</p><p>3. ROCKET LAUNCH / shoot a rocket towards mars. Scoring will be in rings around it. Bullseye- 25 pts, surrounding AREA- 10 and 5 pts each. Patrol flag and yell count for 0 to 5 bonus points.</p><p>4. PLANET ALIGNMENT / each member grabs a planet in our solar system. Timed event to align planets in order. – any falls- minus 10 points. Patrol flag and yell count for 0 to 5 bonus points.</p><p>5. MOON TOSS / all members of patrol. Each throws the “moon” ball- furthest staying in field wins. If moon ball rolls out of bounds- take off 10 feet to overall distance. . Patrol flag and yell count for 0 to 5 bonus points.</p><p>6. STAR THROW / BOWLING PINS SET UP – KNOCK DOWN THE BIG DIPPER-(7) ORION-(3)TENNIS BALLS.</p><p>Each target is 10 pts. . Patrol flag and yell count for 0 to 5 bonus points.</p><p>7. ASTEROID GUARD / Each member of patrol gets a chance to throw ONCE.– 1 target-GUARDED BY STAFF. / 5 points for hitting target / 0 for miss. Patrol spreads out around circle- take turns throwing at can. Patrol flag and yell count for 0 to 5 bonus points.</p><p>8. STAR SOCCER / In foosball court – one patrol of troop versus another patrol. 10 pts for every goal PLUS EACH STAR HIT IS BONUS 20 PTS. GAME TIME- 5 MIN. </p><p>9. LIGHT SPEED RELAY/ OBSTACLE COURSE – HULA HOOPS- BALANCE-CRAWL UNDER RADAR LINE –GO THRU WORM HOLE TUNNEL- THRU ASTEROID FIELD (rocks on tarp) – over meteors (sawhorses). ALL patrol members go. Timed event. Patrol flag and yell count for 0 to 5 bonus points.</p><p>10. build a space station / Using logs and milk crates- build a small space station- team crosses with water for rescue of lost team member . Remember the letter X. 20 points to cross without touching ground. Any falls- minus 2 points. Any water spills- minus 2 pts. Patrol flag and yell count for 0 to 5 bonus points. 11. carboard space ship race / After lunch take your cardboard sled (space ship) to big hill behind Wycoff lodge. Race for time and try to catch 2 tennis balls on way down. Fastest time and furthest distance count plus each ball caught is 2 seconds off total time. Bonus points for most colorful sleds!!</p><p>12. iso tope- radiation rescue / 4 members of patrol coordinate to get rubber circle over can without going into circle to grab radioactive can and get safely out of circle.
