<p>Island Timberlands LP</p><p>Nanaimo</p><p>Quality Control Supervisor</p><p>The Company Island Timberlands LP is a private timberlands business focused on growing and harvesting high quality timber and other forest products from coastal British Columbia for a broad customer base in the Pacific Rim region. Recognized as one of the best sources of high quality Douglas-fir, hemlock and cedar in North America, Island Timberlands has the second largest private timberlands holding (258,000 hectares) in British Columbia. </p><p>The Opportunity As a member of the marketing & distribution department the Quality Control Supervisor ensures the Company’s timber products are manufactured to specification and delivered to the customer as per their requirements. This includes initiating: the manufacturing specifications for each cut block, working directly with operators to ensure timber is processed in accordance with quality specifications, supervising scaling and grading requirements at the dry-land-sorts working with Operations and Planning to ensure layout and harvesting are conducted in a manner that optimizes product value and the cost of production teaching operators and supervisors about product sorts and timber value working with the sales and marketing department to ensure maximum value and respond to market conditions.</p><p>The successful candidate will have forestry related education and/or sufficient industry experience and/or hold a coastal scaling license to tackle this challenging role. </p><p>For more information visit our website at www.islandtimberlands.com Please direct your resumes to opportunities @islandtimberlands.com Closing date July 10, 2014 Only those selected for interviews will be contacted.</p>
