LOCATION: Greater Toronto, Ontario area</p><p>Davey Resource Group, (DRG) a part of The Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, LTD, has opportunities in the field of Urban Forestry, as a consulting Urban Forester. Davey is a leader in the tree care, municipal and forestry industries, throughout Canada and the US.</p><p>JOB DUTIES: Position involves the preparation of arborist reports, hazard risk assessments, tree preservation and management plans. Field data collection of tree and site information on GPS and handheld devices regarding species, evaluation of health and condition, hazards, maintenance needs, and other factors is required. Clients include municipalities, landscape architects and planning firms, and private property owners. </p><p>QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a two-year diploma in forestry, urban forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, plant biology, conservation, environmental science or related fields. International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certification is required. Excellent computer skills are important, with preference given to persons having mapping and AutoCad skills. The ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural technical drawings is a must. Experience with handheld computers, GPS technology and equipment, GIS and tree management software, all are valuable. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary, as well as proven success in performing and writing extensive arborist reports. 5-10 years industry experience, with established industry clientele is desired. A valid driver's license and good driving record are required. Work requires good physical fitness including daily walking with field equipment.</p><p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Compensation/salary based on qualifications and experience.
