Poole, Acting PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Acting Commissioner</p><p>RED HOOK RESIDENTIAL CENTER</p><p>LOCATION 531 Turkey Hill Road, Red Hook, NY 12571</p><p>TELEPHONE 845-758-4151</p><p>FAX NUMBER 845-758-4508</p><p>YOUTH SERVED Male juvenile delinquents and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ) youth between the ages of 13 and18, placed by New York State Family Courts.</p><p>BUDGETED CAPACITY 22</p><p>PHYSICAL PLANT One main building consisting of a reception center, infirmary, school, kitchen and dining area and two separate living units with individual single rooms for youth, a full gymnasium, swimming pool and maintenance building.</p><p>SERVICES PROVIDED Counseling Group and individual counseling, case management by a trained Youth Counselor and mental health services provided by the New York State Office of Mental Health.</p><p>Education GED preparation and testing. Core curriculum based on an individual education plan devised by an Education Supervisor.</p><p>1 Red Hook Residential Center</p><p>Health Services Three full time Registered Nurses provide day-to-day health needs of all youth. This would include, but is not limited to, sick call, medication administration, sexually transmitted disease counseling and testing and all needed Immunizations.</p><p>Recreational Youth Recreation Specialist provides therapeutic daily activities for all youth.</p><p>Religious Services Ministerial services provided to all youth.</p><p>SPECIAL PROGRAMS Discrete Mental Health Unit, which provides assessment and treatment of court adjudicated youth. The therapists on the unit are employees of NYS Office of Mental Health. We also work with gay/transgender youth.</p><p>PRE-RELEASE All youth meet with their Counselor on a weekly ORIENTATION basis and discuss the conditions of their release to Community Youth Services. Before a youth is released, he speaks with his Community Youth Service Counselor via a teleconference and ultimately signs conditions of release, which outlines expectations in the community.</p><p>Revised 3/2012</p><p>2</p>
