The course is intended for students who already have a good understanding of database systems and relational database concepts. </p><p>Rationale for change: Students may begin the course with varying degrees of proficiency in using the SQL language and still be successful. The last sentence implies a level competency beyond what is required or expected for the course. It also ties the course requirements to a particular database language which could change in the future.
