Biography

Duane Dailey

As a Colorado native, Grand County native, U.S. Army veteran, I feel that the Board lacks a voice from rural Colorado veterans. Their unique challenges differ somewhat than those in the urban setting; services available in the metropolitan areas are non-existent in the mountain areas as well as the Eastern Plains. Mental Health and PTSD often goes untreated.

As a County Veterans Service Officer, I am disappointed in the almost one third turn-over of VSO’s per year since I have held my position. As a former County Commissioner, I believe that this Board and Colorado VSO organization can make in-roads with CCI to emphasize the need to train and retrain County Service Officers and increase service hours in the bigger counties.

Experience

Grand County Veterans Service Officer; Grand County Road/Bridge

Grand County Commissioner; Granby Dairy; Amax/Climax Molybdenum Co- Henderson

Community Service

American Legion: Member since 1971,

Post Commander, Post Adjutant.

District Commander, District Sr. and Jr. Vice Commander, District Adjutant

Masonic Lodge

M.
