<p> New Horizons Band of Western New York and Rochester New Horizons Band Exchange October 9 and 10, 2013</p><p>Local Tourist Attractions Wednesday, October 9 th 9:30 a.m. – A tour of the Fredonia Opera House, lead by Rich Davis The 1891 Fredonia Opera House is inside the Village Hall. The Fredonia Preservation Society rehabilitated the 444-seat performing arts center over a nine-year period starting in 1985. The Opera House was reopened in 1994 to become, once again, an integral part of the arts and culture of the community. The tour lasts approximately 50 minutes. Rich Davis will lead the tour.</p><p>10:45 a.m. – A tour of the Fredonia Telecommunications Museum In 1898, Arthur Maytum brought the telephone and telecommunications industry to Dunkirk and Fredonia area. In 1998, a group of Dunkirk and Fredonia (now DFT Communications) employees founded the Telecommunications Society of Fredonia. The society’s main goal was to exhibit and display the history of telecommunications from Alexander Graham Bell and his telegraph through the digital world we live in today. On July 19, 2013, the Telecommunications Museum moved to a new location, 44 Temple St. </p><p>1:30-2:30 p.m. – Tour of the SUNY Fredonia campus Lisa Eikenburg, Associate Director of Public Relations, will lead a walking tour of the campus.</p><p>2:30-5:00 p.m. – Suggested activities for those NOT participating in band activities. Shopping – Pebbles, TJ Max, campus book store Winery tours– Liberty Vineyards – 2061 US 20, Sheridan, 14135; also near grape candle store, hosta garden center Merritt Winery – 2264 King Road, Forestville, 14062 Noble Winery – 8630 Hardscrabble Rd, Westfield, 14787 Amish Trail</p><p>______Please include this section with the registration form.</p><p>Please check the tours you would like to participate in and the number of people with you.
