November 18, 2011 Hitachi Zosen Corporation Successive Orders Received for NOx Removal Catalysts in Coal-fired Power Plants in China Hitachi Zosen Corporation has received successive orders for the supply of NOx removal catalysts in a total four power plants in China, from Chinese engineering company Fujian Longking Co., Ltd. (based in Longyan City, Fujian Province) for installation in two 300 MW plants of Datang Qingyuan Thermal Power Co., Ltd. (Baoding City, Hebei Province) of one of China’s five major power generation companies, China Datang Corporation (CDT; Beijing City), and from CDT group company China Datang Technologies & Engineering Co., Ltd. (Beijing City) for installation in two 630 MW plants of Anhui Huainan Luoneng Power Generation Co., Ltd. (Huainan City, Anhui Province). The orders constitute the fifth in China for Hitachi Zosen, which has delivered more than 330 units of NOx removal equipment to countries including the United States, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar since the delivery of its first unit in Japan in 1974. China has committed to controlling NOx emissions, a cause for air pollution, under its 12th Five-Year Plan that starts this year. Coal-fired power accounts for a large part of the country’s power generation capacity, and there is a surge in demand for NOx removal equipment particularly in the coastal areas of large cities. Hitachi Zosen is prepared to actively meet the increasing demand for NOx removal catalysts not only in China but also in the United States, Thailand, and the Middle East.
