<p> Hudson Volunteer Fire Department Regular Business Meeting February 3, 2003</p><p>MEMBERS PRESENT: Chris Smith, Hawk Ornduff, Robert Smith, Brian MacFadyen, Reese Little, Kris Nelson, Jerry Coker, C.R. Standley, Mark Loose, Norman Hellwig, Larry Goodwin</p><p>VISITORS PRESENT: Matt Marshall, Don Carter</p><p>1. Motion by Coleman Standley to disburse with the quorum policy to start the meeting. Motion Seconded by Mark Loose. M/C/U with 9 voting members.</p><p>2. Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Treasurer Larry Goodwin. Pledge of Allegiance was Recited.</p><p>3. Motion by Coleman Standley to accept minutes from January business meeting. Motion was Seconded by Reese Little. M/C/U.</p><p>4. Motion by Robert Smith to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion by Chris Smith. M/C/U.</p><p>OLD BUSINESS:</p><p>1. Don Carter was introduced as a new applicant. He will be eligible to be voted on in May.</p><p>2. Hawk asked about another base radio for the station. Norman is waiting on Ron with Teletouch.</p><p>3. No estimates were available for roof repairs tonight. Larry will try to have some by the next Business meeting.</p><p>4. Robert thanked Hawk for the work he put in on steam cleaning the carpeted rooms for us.</p><p>5. The strobe lights are in for unit 725 and are in the process of being installed at this time.</p><p>6. Open discussion on our 501(c)3 tax status, and our ability to apply for grants.</p><p>NEW BUSINESS: 1. Norman opened discussion on remaining items needed for unit 723. He also presented the idea Of purchasing filter masks for the grass trucks. After more discussion, Norman made a motion To purchase 4 masks at $80/each and the remaining items for 723 with the total limit not to exceed $1000.00. Hawk seconded the motion. M/C/U. 2. Hawk reported that an Entex service tech has told him they will donate up to 4 complete sets of Plug kits for our trucks. He will check into this further.</p><p>3. Hawk presented prices for a laser thermometer. They range from $67 up to $289.00. No action Was taken at this time.</p><p>4. Jerry Coker stated that neither he nor Devin has new Polk’s cards. Larry will take care of this With all of the newer members.</p><p>5. NEW MEMBER VOTE – Vote was taken on Matt Marshall, with 9 voting members present: 9 yes votes, 0 No votes, Membership was accepted.</p><p>6. Robert Smith discussed the lagging attendance at paged calls. All members need to put more Effort in responding to any and all pages.</p><p>7. Chris Smith announced our Hudson VFD First Responder renewal status through TDH. He will Hang this certificate on the meeting room wall.</p><p>8. Matt reported that he has applications for Volunteer Firefighter personalized plates if anyone is Interested.</p><p>9. Robert Smith reported that Angelina County Firefighters’ Rehab has reduced their dues to $10 monthly. Larry will pay Hudson’s for the year.</p><p>10. Larry Goodwin reported that he has also paid all members’ dues into the ACFA at their meeting Last Monday night.</p><p>11. Mark Loose requested everyone’s e-mail address for our web site, and for future e-mails.</p><p>12. Jerry Coker discussed options on carrying drinking water on the fire trucks. For now, we will just carry bottled water in sacks under the front seats. 13. Coleman made a motion to adjourn, Mark Loose seconded, M/C/U.
