<p> Delaware Board of Well Drillers Meeting Minutes of July 9, 2013</p><p>Alan Pongratz called the meeting to order at 9:35 a.m. on July 9, 2013 at the DNREC Lab Conference room. Members in attendance were: Alan Pongratz, Ira Brittingham, Bob Munyan and John McFarland. Max Walton and Peter McLaughlin were not able to attend the meeting.</p><p>OLD BUSINESS:</p><p> Bob Munyan made a motion to accept the minutes from the June 11, 2013 WWLB meeting. It was seconded by Ira Brittingham with no opposition. </p><p> National Drilling Association online courses: Alan Pongratz made a motion to approve the “Drilling Safety Certificate” for 3 CEU, “Monitor Well Construction” for 4 CEU and “Groundwater Knowledge Certification” for 4 CEU. The motion was seconded by John McFarland and carried with no opposition.</p><p> 2013 WWLB Winter Seminar. Peter McLaughlin and John McFarland will be working on the agenda soon.</p><p>NEW BUSINESS:</p><p>The Board reviewed and discussed the following application for new license with recommendations as follows:</p><p>Robert A. Hittinger, Geotech Driller, Vironex. Bob Munyan made a motion that he be allowed to take the test. The motion was seconded by Ira Brittingham and carried with no opposition.</p><p>The following classes were submitted by Hilary Valentine, Delaware Tech Environmental Training Center for approval for licensing credits:</p><p>1. Environmental History Of Delaware (EYI 946) Alan Pongratz made a motion that this class not be approved, Bob Munyan seconded the motion with one vote opposed. 2. Fundamental Principles Of Small Ground Water System Operations (EYI 586) Alan Pongratz made a motion that this class be approved for 4 CEU contingent upon class hours, it was seconded by Ira Brittingham. 3. Submersible Pumps (EYI 545). Alan Pongratz made a motion to approve this class for 4 CEU, it was seconded by Bob Munyan and carried with no opposition. 4. 21st Century Drinking Water Corrosion Control (EYI 274) Bob Munyan made a motion to approve this class for 3 CEU, it was seconded by Ira Brittingham and carried with no opposition. 5. Excavation Safety (EYI 529) Bob Munyan made a motion to approve this class for 4 CEU, it was seconded by John McFarland and carried with no opposition. 6. Water Supply Hydrology, Sources & Water Conservation (EYI 951) Bob Munyan made a motion to approve this class for 4 CEU, it was seconded by Ira Brittingham and carried with no opposition. 7. Intro to Variable Frequency Drives (EYI 573) John McFarland made a motion to approve this class for 4 CEU, it was seconded by Alan Pongratz and carried with no opposition. 8. Electrical Safety for Water/WW Professionals (EYI 586) Bob Munyan made a motion to not approve this class, it was seconded by John McFarland and carried with no opposition. 9. Intro to Mapping & GIS for Water/WW Professionals (EYI 553) John McFarland made a motion to not approve this class, it was seconded by Bob Munyan and carried with no opposition. 10. 5 Sure Ways to a Coliform Hit in Your Water System . John McFarland made a motion to not approve this class, it was seconded by Bob Munyan and carried with no opposition. 11. Water/WW Sampling Techniques for Environmental Compliance (EYI 916) Bob Munyan made a motion to not approve this class, it was seconded by Ira Brittingham and carried with no opposition. 12. 3 Phase AC Power Workshop (EYI 543) Alan Pongratz made a motion to approve this class for 4 CEU, it was seconded by John McFarland and carried with no opposition. 13. Water Operator Filtration Endorsement Course for Sand, Green Sand, Reverse Osmosis, Ion Exchange & Activated Carbon ( EYI 276) Bob Munyan made a motion to not approve this class, it was seconded by John McFarland and carried with no opposition. 14. Valves (EYI 936) Bob Munyan made a motion to not approve this class, it was seconded by Ira Brittingham and carried with no opposition. 15. Pump Hydraulics (EYI 538) Ira Brittingham made a motion to approve this class for 4 CEU, it was seconded by Alan Pongratz and carried with no opposition. 16. Tracking Water Movement Through Doppler & Transit Flow Meters (EYI 216) Bob Munyan made a motion to approve this class for 2 CEU, it was seconded by Alan Pongratz and carried with no opposition.</p><p>Alan Pongratz announced that John Barndt’s Program Manager I position has been filled by Anita Beckel. She comes to DNREC from Public Health’s Office Of Drinking Water and may attend the next Board meeting. OTHER BUSINESS:</p><p>Violation Updates: No new violations to report.</p><p>Well Regulation Revisions: No updates</p><p>Ira Brittingham made a motion to adjourn the meeting, it was seconded by Bob Munyan.
