<p> House Federalism and Interstate Relations Committee</p><p>Minutes: June 20, 2017</p><p>Chairwoman Roegner called the meeting to order at 2:02 PM. The roll was called and a quorum was present. The minutes from the June 6, 2017 meeting were approved without objection.</p><p>Chairwoman Roegner called House Bill 228 for its 1st hearing. Representatives Johnson & LaTourette offered sponsor testimony and answered questions from the committee. </p><p>Jim Irvine offered proponent testimony on behalf of Buckeye Firearms Association. </p><p>Written proponent testimony was submitted by Doug Deeken and Darin C. Moore, both on behalf of Ohioans for Concealed Carry.</p><p>Chairwoman Roegner called House Bill 233 for it’s second hearing.</p><p>Representative Becker moved that the Committee accept substitute bill #L_132_0078-4 as the new working version of House Bill 233. Chairwoman Roegner asked if there are any objections to the motion to accept the Substitute Bill. Seeing no objections, L_132_0078-4 became the new working version of House Bill 233.</p><p>Jim Irvine offered proponent testimony on behalf of Buckeye Firearms Association, and answered questions from the committee.</p><p>Gary Witt offered proponent testimony on behalf of Ohioans for Concealed Carry, and answered questions from the committee. </p><p>Written proponent testimony was submitted by Doug Deeken and Darin C. Moore, both on behalf of Ohioans for Concealed Carry.</p><p>Chairwoman Roegner called House Bill 79 up for its 2nd hearing.</p><p>John P. Hagan Jr. offered proponent testimony and answered questions from the committee. Written proponent testimony was submitted by Joe Weyer, Kris Prosser, Daniel P. Meloy, Brent Abdelnour, and Dustin Calhoun.</p><p>Chairwoman Roegner called House Bill 201 for its 3rd hearing.</p><p>Sarah Mouncey offered opponent testimony on behalf of Moms Demand Action- Columbus Chapter.</p><p>Larry Pratt offered proponent testimony on behalf of Gun Owners of America, and answered questions from the committee.</p><p>DJ Parten offered proponent testimony on behalf of National Association of Gun Rights, and answered questions from the committee.. Jennifer Thorne of the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence, offered opponent testimony and answered questions from the committee. </p><p>Written proponent testimony was submitted by Doug Deeken and Darin C. Moore, on behalf of Ohioans for Concealed Carry.</p><p>John Gilchrist, on behalf of the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, submitted written opponent testimony.</p><p>Chairwoman Roegner adjourned the committee at 4:25 PM.</p><p>______</p><p>Chair, Kristina Roegner Secretary, David Leland</p>
