<p>WDUSTHYROID BIOPSY</p><p>HISTORY: _</p><p>RADIOLOGIST: Dr. Wei Du</p><p>PROCEDURE AND FINDINGS: Ultrasound guided FNA biopsy of a _ sided thyroid nodule</p><p>The risks and the benefits of the procedure were explained to the patient and consent was obtained. </p><p>The patient was placed in supine position. Ultrasound exam shows a _ nodule measuring _ in the _ thyroid gland. The skin was prepped and draped in sterile fashion. Under local anesthesia using 2% lidocaine and ultrasonographic guidance, FNA biopsy of the nodule was performed utilizing 25 gauge needles for three times. The needle entry images were stored. The specimens were submitted on smear slides and in CytoLyt. Immediate cytology exam showed adequate specimen.</p><p>The patient tolerated the procedure well with no complications.</p><p>IMPRESSION:  Uneventful ultrasound guided FNA biopsy of a _ thyroid nodule.</p>
