<p> Donations & Sponsorship</p><p>1. All donations and sponsorships shall be treated as general league revenue to be used for ongoing league expenses unless specified for another use by the donor. Corporate sponsorships should be directed and managed by the Board of Directors. Individual teams should not be soliciting public contributions.</p><p>2. All donations and sponsorships shall be brought to the attention of the board, managed by the board treasurer and subject to review and approval by the board.</p><p>3. Team families with personal connections to local business owners can request sponsorships with the prior notification and approval of the league’s Head of Fundraising. All donations must be managed by the board treasurer. For tracking purposes, checks, along with a written statement by the donor for its intended team and use, should go through the league fundraiser, either delivered in person or sent to </p><p>EJYH Attn: League Fundraiser PO Box 174 Horseheads, NY 14845</p><p>4. Any donation or sponsorship ear-marked for a specific use or team shall be accompanied by a written statement from the donor specifying its intended use. In the event the intended use is not consistent with the laws governing not for profit corporations, the donor shall be given the opportunity to modify their earmark request, rescind the donation/sponsorship, or allow the league to treat the donation/sponsorship as general revenue. </p><p>5. Sponsoring businesses will be recognized on our league’s website under the individual team’s page to which they donated. Donors requesting a tax receipt should state so in the written statement provided with donation check.</p><p>6. Thank you cards recognizing the donation are the responsibility of the team manager. </p><p>Revised July 2017</p><p>****************IMPORTANT******************</p><p>IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT THE LEAGUE FUNDRAISER BE AWARE OF TEAM DONATIONS IN ADVANCE OF APPROACH SO THE PROPER RECOGNITION AND RECIEPTS CAN BE ISSUED.
