<p> GCPS Middle School Advisement Program Framework for Schools Vision/Purpose of Advisement Programs The purpose of advisement programs is to build meaningful connections between adults and students resulting in improved student academic achievement. Program Structure Optimum Minimum Meeting Frequency Meet weekly Meet 2 times per month Duration 30 minutes each 60 minutes total per month Group Size 15/1 30/1 Group Division Keep advisor 3 yrs Keep advisor 1 year Alphabetical/grade Pod/Team assignment</p><p>ESOL/SPED students should be mainstreamed, when possible</p><p>Advisors will prioritize the needs of advisees and make a personal contact with them between advisement sessions. All advisees should be contacted at some point, based on need.
