He has trampled death by death. He has become the First-vorn of the Dead. He has delivered us from the depths of Hades and has granted the world great mercy.

Tropar of the church in Tone 1 In giving birth, you preserved your virginity. You were translated to life, Mother of Life, and through your prayers, you deliver our souls from death.

Tropar to the Great-martyr in Tone 8 Let us honour the holy Barbara; for the most honoured one broke the snares of the enemy and was delivered from them like a bird, with the help ands aid of the Cross.

Tropar to the Ven. For as the Mother of Life she has been translated to life by the One Who dwelt within her ever-virginal womb.

Prokimen of the Resurrection in Tone 3 3 Sing praises to our God, sing praises. Sing praises to our King, sing praises. Verse: Clap your hands, all you peoples. Be a God of protection for me, a house of refuge, to save me.

Alleluia Verses in Tone 1 With patience I waited patiently for the Lord, and He was attentive unto me, and He hearkened unto my supplication. And He brought me up out of the pit of misery, and from the mire of clay.

Communion Hymns Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the highest. Alleluia (3X).
