I suggest reading/reviewing the "front matter" document first followed by as many of the other supporting documents/appendices as is practicable before tackling the performance expectations and providing comment via the survey.</p><p>Job Opening – Children and Youth Librarian, Ogdensburg Public Library </p><p>The Ogdensburg (NY) Public Library (www.ogdlib.org) has reopened its search for a Children and Youth Librarian. This entry-level professional position requires an ALA accredited Master’s Degree. Experience in children’s or school libraries preferred. Eligibility for consideration will be determined by a Civil Service evaluation of credentials and experience based upon the information supplied in a City of Ogdensburg Civil Service form submitted by 1/31/13. Ogdensburg is a small city of 11,000 on the south bank of the St. Lawrence River opposite Prescott/Brockville, Ont. OPL serves as a resource center for the other 64 members of the North Country Library System with a staff of three professional librarians, five FTE clerks, plus additional support staff. The Children and Youth Librarian is responsible for all preschool through high school age services, including programing and material selection, publicity, and outreach. As part of our administrative team, you will be working with the director in a collaborative environment to inform and implement the library’s long-term plan, plus have some responsibilities for daily library operations and supervision of support staff and volunteers. The starting salary is $32,255 plus a generous benefits package including health insurance with prescriptions, vacation, and optional enrollment in the New York State Employee Retirement plan. For more information please contact Wayne Miller, Director, at 315-393-4325, or [email protected]</p><p>Previously Printed</p><p>Information Fluency Continuum Lesson Plan Share/Swap</p><p>As part of our Communication Coordinator meeting on Wednesday, March 27th SLS will schedule time to share lesson plans related to the IFC. Some librarians have spent many hours writing IFC lesson plans. It will be great to share with other librarians how you are teaching students using your newly created IFC lesson plans. If you are reading this and sinking into your chair with worry, don’t worry. Please come to the meeting with what you have completed. You may only have a lesson idea that you want to propose to a teacher that will improve their research project. You may be totally overwhelmed. This is a session to build your confidence and resources, not overwhelm you further. This will be an excellent time for us to meet as a whole group thus SLS would like to open an invitation to all district librarians not just Communication Coordinators. 2 SLS wanted to make you aware of the sharing session now, so you would have time to work on and compile your IFC lesson plans. Each lesson ideally would include copies of the plan itself and all supporting materials. Your peers will review and learn from your lessons. At the end of the morning, we will each have a database of IFC lessons from which to pull. Please bring your data on a flash drive for compiling.
