We are currently seeking driven, joyful team members to join our growing community of educators, scholars, and families. </p><p>About the Role </p><p>Position Interim Director of Community Outreach </p><p>Timeline of Position December 1, 2015 - April 1st, 2016 (Flexible Start and End Dates)</p><p>Summary The Interim Director of Community Outreach is charged with carrying out Valor Collegiate Academies’ goal to educate every South Nashville family with a rising 5th grader about Valor as a high-quality, public middle school option for their child. He/she will conduct outreach events at our schools and in the community, oversee marketing and outreach efforts, receive and oversee the processing of scholar applications, and assist in the lottery process. Specific responsibilities include </p><p> Implementing and overseeing outreach and recruitment strategies to ensure annual application goals  Administering the application and lottery process in partnership with Metro Nashville Public Schools  Organizing and implementing Valor outreach events, such as Information Sessions, Shadow Days, Door-knocking, and support Community Tours and meetings for prospective families.  Coordinating on- and off-site events, such as elementary school events and/or private home parties.  Overseeing volunteers and data entry of the applications  Managing organizational materials for outreach and student recruitment  Facilitating the orientation and onboarding of new families  Identifying and training Valor Parent Ambassadors, Scholar Ambassadors, and Faculty for support with outreach events such as neighborhood door-knocking. Qualifications:</p><p> Applicants must strongly support the concept of public school choice for all families  Community outreach, marketing, campaign, or advocacy experience highly valued  Experience working in an educational or non-profit organization highly preferred  An excitement to work with an ethnically & economically diverse population of families and scholars  The ability to model, live, and reinforce the Valor’s core values with colleagues, scholars, parents, and the larger community  Applicants must possess optimism, resiliency, curiosity, perseverance, compassion, and a sense of humor</p><p>Compensation: A competitive stipend will be offered for this interim role, based on experience level.</p><p>How to Apply </p><p>All interested applicants should email a resume and letter of interest to Lauren Hayes at [email protected].</p>
