You must be a member to participate. You may join at any time prior to the course.

Each course will be limited to eight participants in an evening in order to assure positive safety and control. The course will be conducted by NRA Certified Law Enforcement Handgun Instructors, NRA Certified Pistol Instructors, and NRA Certified Range Safety Officers. (This is NOT a “NRA” course.)

The course involves scenarios simulating home invasion to include live firing in low light at 15 feet, loading, unloading, tactical reloading, and clearing malfunctions and stoppages using dummy ammo. We will spend two hours in the classroom then two hours on the range in low light live firing simulating a home invasion event.

The following are participant instructions:

1. You must register for the course online by emailing the Chief Instructor, Peter Friedman, at [email protected] with the following information:

A. Name address and phone number of each participant. B. Type of handgun(s) you will bring to the course (properly cased and unloaded).

2. You must bring at least 50 rounds for each handgun – factory ammo only, NO RELOADS. Calibers can be .22LR, .32, .38, .40, .45, or 9MM. You must bring at least 2 magazines, or 1 speedloader for a revolver! All handguns should be properly cleaned.

3. Proper attire is necessary as part of the course is conducted at night with live fire. Please no shorts, sandals, tank-tops, etc. You might bring a light jacket. The course will require brief kneeling behind a barrier on carpeting during the live firing outside the classroom. The drills are not timed so you can relax!

4. If you have safety glasses and ear muffs, please bring them. If not, they will be provided.

5. All handguns will be inspected to assure they are in an operable and safe condition. Again, this is a live-fire course – safety is paramount! 6. Please note, this is not a beginner course! This course is for those who already have an intermediate knowledge of their handguns and basic gun handling to include sight alignment, sight picture, breath control, and trigger control. We’ll go over these elements in the classroom prior to the live firing as well as many others applicable to the course. The staff will determine whether a participant is qualified to meet applicable safety requirements. Only one participant at a time will shoot during any drill.

7. The cost of the course is $100 per participant payable by cash at the course. You will receive the NRA’s 223-page book “Personal Protection In The Home” to keep!

8.
