Is it the beginning – middle – end of the story ? beginning - What is picture 1 about ? (what ? where ? who ?) plane crash, victims, Chang dead - What is Tintin doing ? Why ? What is he going to do ? - How does he feel ? He looks … worried, sad, determined</p><p>BLACKBOARD Extract, newpaper article, plane crash, to pack one’s suitcase, worried, determined, alive, to agree</p><p>2. SILENT READING and SPEAKING with reading instructions</p><p>(1) Newspaper article : where did it happen ? where did Chang want to go ? why ?</p><p>(2) Captain Haddock : is he encouraging Tintin or not ? Who tried (essayer) to find Chang ? (find 2 groups of people) Sherpas and mountaineers </p><p>(3) Can you say « Chang is alive » in other words ? he’s not dead Find 2 expression showing Tintin’s determination. « convinced » « believe » (4) Is Captain Haddock going with Tintin ? Is it a final no ? Quote. (5) React ! Captain Haddock said he would not come but he’s at New Delhi’s airport with Tintin and Snowy ! Even if he said he would not come… / He said he would not come. And yet … In your opnion, why did he finally change his mind ? I think they are very good old friends and he didn’t want Tintin to go on his own. I suppose he knew Tintin was very sad after Chang’s accident. Tintin needed his old friend.</p>
