<p> CENTRAL PARK ELEMENTARY PTA BOARD MEETING MINUTES November 17, 2014</p><p>The meeting was called to order at 9:33am</p><p>Attendance: Nicole Dorn, Melanie Hanson, Lisa Weidler, Barbie Seculer, Nancy Karsh, Robin Fractenberg, Jodi Swirsky, Carol Saponaro, Jennifer Edwards, Heather Vallee, Teresa Romero, Tracy Yudell, Lauren Saunders, Arianne Howey, Melissa Kwavnick</p><p>Treasurer Report: Tracy Yudell -Some committees are exceeding their budgets -What should Fun Run proceeds be spent on? PTA should have input, not just receive a Wish List from the school -Tracy: Better security at front office, Lisa: Better playground areas needed -playground alternatives were discussed, security alternatives were discussed -Fun Run profit is $19,000 and Sponsors profit is $13,000 -Photocopying expenses have been excessive, discussed possibility of purchasing a copier or new printer for the PTA office -Committees were told to check in PTA office for supplies before spending money -Committees were also reminded to clean up their supplies in the PTA office after their event -Kindergarten rejected Thumbody Program -Kindergarten will be getting their usual allotment of $90 per class for Thanksgiving, Holidays Around the World, and 100 Days Celebration -Suggestion to spend money on cafeteria was made such as lighting and sound panels -Barbie: computer and laptop issues -Digital 5 Program started this year for 5th grade – they will be taking home their laptops every night, all textbooks are now digital for 5th grade</p><p>Campus Beautification: Lauren Saunders -Home Depot volunteers will be coming out to CPE on Saturday 11-22-14 from 8:30am-1pm to do campus beautification project. They have donated plants, grass, and their time -PTA will reimburse Lauren for providing bagels, coffee, etc. for the volunteers </p><p>Community Fair: Lisa Weidler -January 24, 2015 from 8:00am-12pm, set up at 6am -spots can be purchased for $21 on our PTA website school estore -website estore is less expensive than PayPal so PTA will be using it for online payments -platinum PTA sponsors will receive a free table -we will be doing a pre-sale for CPE families first before opening it up to the community -we will advertise in our sponsors windows, place of business, Craigslist, etc -There are 107 open spots -Relay for Life, PTA, all CPE clubs will all have a table and offer food, water, snacks -Sign up sheet to volunteer at this event will be sent around at December PTA Meeting</p><p>Traffic Issues: -Heather announced that zoning, city, Plantation PD, school board were all meeting today to continue discussion on traffic issues -PTA will bond together on this issue and ask for a meeting with Ms.Deutsch, Ms. Coleman, Plantation PD, chief of traffic, parents, and the community -PTA will have written demands/proposal for parents to sign to show our unity Winter Wishes: -tree is going up this week -gift collection is December 3,4,5 -gift wrapping volunteers needed on December 8th after drop off</p><p>Next PTA Meeting is December 9th – food will be provided for us by the school</p><p>TCBY Family Night is Thursday December 4th from 12-10pm</p><p>Field Day Update: Arianne Howey -she met with the grade chairs (teachers) and they will be deciding on a color for each class’s shirts -she will email room parents with class colors for grades 1-5 -Kindergarten field day is December 18th</p><p>Teacher & Staff Holiday Luncheon Collection starts tomorrow through Friday</p><p>Motion to adjourn meeting was made by Lisa Weidler and 2nd by Melissa Kwavnick</p><p>MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 10:41AM</p><p>Respectfully Submitted, Jennifer Edwards Corresponding Secretary </p>
