<p> ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY, INC. Beta Sigma Omega Chapter-Connections Committee Report (March/April) Executive Meeting Soror Gayle Caldwell, Chairman Monday, April 11, 2016</p><p>Sorors Take Action – Advocate, Communicate, Train, Influence, Organize, and Network. (Theam) “NO VOTE-NO VOICE” (Slogan).</p><p>February was a very busy month for the ladies of Beta Sigma Omega Connections Committee.</p><p>On Sunday, February 21, 2016, as part of our Sister to Sister Connections Activity, Beta Sigma Omega conducted their “No Vote-No Voice” Voter Registration Blitz Campaign, in which 9 Sorors at various Church’s throughout the Oklahoma City Area conducted voter registration. The following Soror’s and Church’s were represented:</p><p>1. Soror Linda Johnson Higgins representing Tabernacle Baptist Church-Pastor Dr. William J. Tiller Jr. 2. Soror LaTonya Robinson representing Greater Antioch Full Gospel Baptist Church-Bishop Lester Cezar 3. Soror Georgetta James representing Prospect Baptist Church-Dr. Lee Cooper 4. Soror Joyce Henderson representing St. John CME Church-Rev Anthony L. Walker 5. Soror’s Anastasia Pittman and Soror Annett Bly representing N.E. Church of Christ-Brother, Arnelius Crenshaw 6. Soror Priscilla Metoyer representing 5th Street Missionary Baptist Church- Pastor, Byron Coleman 7. Soror Carolyn Harris representing Mt. Olive Baptist Church-Reverend Ray Douglas 8. Soror Gayle Caldwell representing New Dimensions Ministry-Bishop Randall House Sr.</p><p>These ladies registered about Sixty-Five new voters to the Oklahoma County Voter rolls. Great job ladies!! Thank you so very much.</p><p>Monday, February 22, 2016 Sorors Carolyn Harris and Amika Pittman represented Beta Sigma Omega for Senior Day at the Capitol which is a day designed to bring recognition to the needs of the elderly in our community. </p><p>Tuesday, February 23, 2016 I attended a Voter Empowerment Training at the Association of General Contractors, hosted by Willa Johnson in honor of our own Soror, Senator Anastasia Pittman. Senator Pittman went over the various voter forms to make sure that everyone was clear of the issues on the ballot. </p><p>Thursday, Feb 25th, about Twenty-Five Sorors from Beta Sigma Omega met at the Oklahoma County State Elections Board to join the early “Get Out And Vote” campaign in which Sorors were able to cast their votes for their favorite candidates.</p><p>Next Election Dates to remember are:</p><p>June 28, 2016-Statewide Primary Elections</p><p>August 23, 2016-Run Off Primary Elections</p><p>November 8, 2016-General Election</p><p>AKA Day at the Capitol will be April 20, 2016 from 9-2 p.m. at the Oklahoma State Capitol. If you missed the April 11th deadline and still want to attend, please contact Senator Pittman’s office at 405-521-5531, ASAP.
