<p> South High Pride Volleyball Tournament Rules Sunday, January 27, 2013 and February 17, 2013 Grades 6th and 11th grades starting at 7:30 AM and 7th Grade starts at approximately 12:30 PM and 8th Grade starts at approximately 2:30 pm Facility Locations:  South Hamilton High School Gym and Elementary Gym – Jewell, IA  We will have a concession stand and coolers are allowed. No admission fee.  Please keep your campsite cleaned up and help us keep the gym, benches and lunch area picked up. Coaches:  Check in 20 minutes prior to your first game time  Please help keep games running smoothly  Matches will be played ahead of schedule as dictated by play  If we get behind schedule we will eliminate warm-up time.  Each team is to bring their own balls for warm up and whistles for officiating Tournament Format: Pool Play (maximum of 5 teams per age division)  Pool play begins at 7:30 – Doors open at 6:45 am  Two games to 21, cap at 23  Warm-up protocol for 1st match: 2 passing -2 hitting -2 serving  Warm up for all other matches: 2 hitting and 2 serving  The team listed first will be serving first in set 1 Tournament Play – Single Elimination  Immediately follows conclusion of pool play  Must win 2 of 3 games  Games to 21 points, cap at 23. Game 3 to 15, no cap, win by 2 Officiating:  Each team must provide 2 officials (2 adults for 6th and 7th Grades and 1 adult for 8th and 11th grades), 2 score keepers, and 2 line judges.  In the high school we will have two courts going at the same time. The playable area is up to the opposite courts normal playing court. The walls and basketball hoops are considered out of bounds. Seeding – Tournament Play:  Seeding for playoff position determined by: o Overall win/loss record o Head-to-head wins o Head-to-head point differential o Total round pool point differential o Coin toss  Medals will be handed out to the top 3 teams in each bracket.
