<p> 2015 MEXICAN NATIONAL SHORT COURSE MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIP</p><p>The Mexican Swimming Federation (FMN) invites all Masters Swimmers to participate in the 2015 Mexican National Short Course Masters Championship, in coordination with Nadadores de Quintana Roo, A.C. and the support of the Instituto del Deporte de Benito Juarez and the Comisión para la Jueventud y el Deporte de Quintana Roo, under the following bases:</p><p>BASES</p><p>Location: Benito Juárez (Cancún), Quintana Roo</p><p>Official Pool: Olimpic Pool in the Boston Institute, located in Avenida Andrés Quintana Roo number 96, Región 96, Benito Juárez, Q.R. 77535. Phone: 01-998-843-6920</p><p>Dates: From Thursday October 22nd. through Sunday October 25th , 2015 (pool events) and Monday October 26th 1.5K and 3k Open Water Swims.</p><p>Categories: Swimmers will compete in 16 categories determined by the age of the swimmer until December 31st., 2015. It is required that all swimmers write their birthdate in the registration form.</p><p>Individual categories: 19-24, 25-29, 30-34. 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99 Relay categories: 76-99, 100-119, 120-159, 160-199, 200-239, 240-279, 280-319, 320 and older. The relays must be conformed by four swimmers of the same team, and all four must be registered in one individual event. The category will be determined by the sum of the ages of all four swimmers. No swimmer will be allowed to swim two relays of the same event. Swimmers under 25 will have the right to a medal, but will not contribute to points to the team and can only participate in the category 76-99. Eligibility: Foreign participants will be able to participate with a written authorization from their Local/National Swimming Association or a valid credential which confirms the affiliation.</p><p>Entries: Registration for foreign swimmers is open from the publication of this document and until Thursday October 10, 2015 at 4:00 pm. All swimmers have to fill out the entry form included in this document and are asked to send it to [email protected] or [email protected] . All entries must be accompanied by a copy of their payment transaction and a copy of their valid affiliation card. Please make sure you receive a confirmation mail specifying that your registration has been received. All swimmers must read, fill out and sign the entry form. Entries with N/T will not be accepted. Swimmers may only participate in 3 individual pool events per day and 5 individual pool events throughout the entire competition. Open water swims will not be considered as a pool event. Open waters swims give no points and are a different event all together.</p><p>Registration: All participants must register by signing a liability release. Registration will be held at the General Meeting and through the end of competition with the Meet Director Patty Kohlmann in case the swimmer/coach is not able to arrive on time for the General Meeting.</p><p>Fees: $4.00 USD ($60.00 pesos) per individual event per swimmer under 60 years. $3.00 USD ($50.00 pesos) per individual event per swimmer over 60 years. $35.00 USD ($500.00 pesos) for any of the two Open Water events. $16.00 USD ($240.00 pesos) for relays</p><p>Fees must accompany the entry form and must be paid in full in U.S. dollars in the following account: Address: Av. If you wish to pay in Mexican pesos, please do so to following account:</p><p>Entry Deadline: Entry deadline will be October 10 th. 2015 at 4:00 pm. No telephone entries will be accepted</p><p>Number of Events: All swimmers are limited to three individual events per day. All events must include an entry time. No refunds will be given if the event is not swum.. If a swimmer enters an event with a time significantly slower or faster than that swimmer’s recorded time in the previous two years, the meet director may, after a discussion with the swimmer, change the seed time to a realistic time. There are no qualifying times for this event but the time of the swimmer must be realistic.</p><p>Calling area or Oficialia Mayor: Every swimmer has to go to the Calling area to check in before each event. If a swimmer is not there on time and misses its heat, the swimmer will not be allowed to swim in another heat, the swimmer will miss that event.</p><p>Meet Roster: A real-time meet roster including name, age, gender, and club will be available before the meet to verify the swimmers participation information. Please check the FMN official webpage www.fmn.org.mx under Events in the Masters section or send a mail to the following address [email protected]</p><p>Heat and Psych Sheets: Psych sheets for all individual events will be available to by on site the first day of competition and at the General Meeting.</p><p>General Meeting: All swimmers and coaches are encouraged to attend the General Meeting Wednesday October 21st. in Hotel Krystal Urban (before called B2B), Av. Sayil Mza. 1, Lote 4-07, SM 4a. Malecón de Cancún, Q.R. 77500. As a reference, the hotel is located behind the bullring.</p><p>Scoring: Club Scoring: Club scoring will be tabulated combined. Individual scores of all swimmers will be tabulated at the end of the Meet and the tree first Teams will be awarded.</p><p>Awards: Medals will be awarded for 1st. through 8th. places in each pool and open water event, age group and gender. Unclaimed awards will not be mailed. There will be no official award ceremony; each swimmer will have to pick up their medal at the medal stand and a podium will be available for the “official picture”. Only for pool events: Top swimmers of each category and gender with highest scores will be awarded with a “Individual Champion” plaque and a gift from Arena and other official sponsors at the end of the meet. In case of a tie, the swimmer who lives the farthest will take the plaque and an additional will be made for the other swimmer. A diploma will be awarded in case of a record.</p><p>Final Results: Complete final results may be ordered by mail following the competition at [email protected]</p><p>Participation information: - The schedule posted in the heat sheet are is only estimated; since the rhythm of the competition may vary, it is the duty of each swimmer to be on time at the calling area. - It is the swimmers responsibility to be at the Calling Area on time - Each swimmer has to confirm the lane he will swim in, and he/she has to swim in that lane. If he/she swims in another lane, he/she will be disqualified. - For the 400 and 800 freestyle events, lane will be assigned in the Calling Area and will be swum from fastest to slowest times. Swimmers have to be at the Calling Area before the start of the event in order to check in and verify the heat and lane they will be swimming in. - 400 medley and 200 fly will also be swum from fastest to slowest times. - Swimmers will not be able to change events during the competition. - Open water events do not count for individual points. Seeding: - Men’s heats will precede women’s heats for each event. - Two Calling Areas and two pools of 8 lanes will be used. In one pool will swim the even heats and in the other the uneven heats. - For the 400 and 800 freestyle events, lane will be assigned in the Calling Area and will be swum from fastest to slowest times regardless of age. Swimmers have to be at the Calling Area before the start of the event in order to check in and verify the heat and lane they will be swimming in. - 400 medley and 200 fly will also be swum from fastest to slowest times regardless of age.</p><p>Transportation, hotel and meals: Each swimmer will be responsible for their transportation, room and board. There are many hotels and prices available in Cancun. The pool is located in the City of Cancun, the main hotel zone is a little far from the pool, so we recommend looking for hotels from the City up to the Convention Center. If you wish to stay farther than that, just consider the travel times to the pool.
