Are you dealing with any medical conditions that hinder safe bedsharing? What would be your number one reason for changing sleeping arrangements at this point? What would be your number one reason to continue bedsharing right now? Do you have people in your life who are supportive of your sharing sleep with the family? Do you feel outside pressure to continue bedsharing, or to stop bedsharing? How does bedsharing impact your lifestyle most? Do you feel your baby/child(ren) are as ready as they’re going to be, to stop sleeping next to you? If not, when does your intuition tell you they will be? If you move baby/child to their own bed, list some back up comfort measures be for when your baby/child(ren) are sick/teething/scared etc. How will you handle it when they come to your room at night? 10. Have you thought of some initial steps to make this transition? What is the plan, and do you have confidence in the plan? 11. Imagine a night in the life of you no longer sharing a bed with this baby or child. What emotions come up for you? Is there one emotion that is most powerful? Other factors:</p><p>Scoring</p><p>After each answer has been weighed, circle the ones that are “solo sleep”. Tally up all the “solo sleep” points, and then tally up all the “bedsharing” points.  If your client has a medical condition, the points would go in the solo sleep category.  If your client feels that they have a good set of comfort measures, they can put those points into solo sleep.  If your client feels pessimistic about how the comfort measures will go over, put the points into the bedsharing category.  If your client feels they have researched and come up with a solid plan, put the points into the solo sleep category.  If your client feels unsure of what plan they will use, the points go into the bedsharing category.</p><p>Solo Sleep Bedsharing</p><p>How does your client feel about these results? Encourage them to discuss this with you or a close loved one to get further clarity.</p>
