<p>CONCURRENT WORKSHOPS WEDNESDAY 6th FEBRUARY 2013</p><p>Session One from 1:00pm to 2:30pm</p><p>Workshop One GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES IN PROGRAMMING, RESEARCH, POLICY GRAND AND ADVOCACY BALLROOM</p><p>The workshop format will be a discussion among panellists and participants around seminal questions regarding the key role of ECD in peace building efforts around the world</p><p>Co-Chairs: Louise Zimanyi, Director, The Consultative Group on ECCD Mary Moran, Senior Program Specialist - ECD, ChildFund International</p><p>Participants: Liana Ghent, International Step by Step Association Ghassan Issa, Coordinator, the Arab Resource Collective Junko Miyahara, Coordinator, Asia Regional Pacific Network for Early Childhood Thomas Morgan, Research Fellow, The Institute for Economics and Peace </p><p>Workshop Two GRAND USING ADVOCACY TO DELIVER SOCIAL CHANGE 3</p><p>Two projects funded by the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister under the Contested Spaces programme will give an overview of how their work in interface areas across Northern Ireland is meeting the Government's Delivering Social Change agenda. </p><p>Chair: Professor Colin Knox, University of Ulster, Belfast </p><p>Participants: Early Years Working in interface Areas – Faces and Spaces: Eleanor Mearns, Early Years – the organisation for young children, Belfast Education as a medium in contested communities - Gavin Duffy, Queen's University Belfast Bringing it all Together: the wider policy context – Professor Colin Knox, University of Ulster, Belfast</p><p>Workshop Three DUBLIN BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF THOSE WHO WORK WITH YOUNG CHILDREN (2nd Floor) AND THEIR FAMILIES IN REGIONS AFFECTED BY CONFLICT</p><p>This workshop will look at the pilot Masters in Applied Peace and Conflict Studies with Early Years that has been developed by the International Network on Peace Building with Young Children in conjunction with the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland </p><p>Chair: Maria Cristina Garcia Vesga, CINDE, Colombia</p><p>Participants: Norma Rudolph, Cape Town, South Africa Stephen Ryan, INCORE University of Ulster, Derry-Londonderry Clionagh Boyle, Early Years CONCURRENT WORKSHOPS WEDNESDAY 6th FEBRUARY 2013</p><p>Session Two from 3:00pm to 4:30pm</p><p>Workshop Four STRATEGIES AND APPROACHES FOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN AND GRAND FAMILIES WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA BALLROOM</p><p>The workshop will give delegates an opportunity to engage with the conference Keynote Speaker Stuart Shanker and to listen to some examples of best practice from around the world of programmes and initiatives that deal with the impact of trauma.</p><p>Chair: Louise Zimanyi, Director, The Consultative Group on ECCD</p><p>Presenter: Stuart Shanker, Distinguished Research Professor of Philosophy, Psychology and Education at York University, Canada Discussant: Liana Ghent, Director, The International Step by Step Association</p><p>Workshop Five GRAND TRANSFORMING COMMUNITIES: INVOLVING AND SUPPORTING PARENTS AND CHILDREN IN INTERFACE AREAS THROUGH TARGETED PROGRAMMES 3</p><p>Several projects based in inner city Belfast and funded by the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister under the Contested Spaces programme will give an overview of the work they are doing to reach out and engage with young people and their families in interface areas. </p><p>Chair: Sarah Cherry, Juniper Consulting, Belfast</p><p>Participants: Mark McFerran, Achieving Personal Potential Project – Shankill Women's Centre, Belfast Clare McFarlane, Active Respectful Community – Holy Cross Schools, Belfast Maire Hughes, Aspire Programme; Currie and Holy Family Primary Schools Belfast</p><p>Workshop Six THE ECOLOGICAL SYSTEMS MODEL AND THE ROLE OF THE MEDIA IN DUBLIN PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT IN REGIONS AFFECTED BY CONFLICT (2nd Floor)</p><p>This workshop will showcase the international toolkit for working with young children affected by conflict that has been developed by the International Network on Peace Building with Young Children.
