<p> Instructions for 5th grade Native American Project </p><p>1. When it is due: Friday, November 30, 2012 </p><p>2. Choose from the following tribes to do your project on (please choose one you are not already familiar with): Inuit, Chinook, Pomo, Apache, Hopi, Yakima, Comanche, Cheyenne, Sioux, Iroquois, Seminole, Cherokee, Caddo, or Mohawk</p><p>3. Some class time will be provided for research. Additional research may be completed at home. THE FINAL PROJECT MUST BE COMPLETED AT HOME. Research will be conducted using 2 specific websites: http://www.native-languages.org/kids.htm http://bookunitsteacher.com/indians/index.htm</p><p>4. Once you have chosen your tribe you will need to follow the rubric to see what is expected of you to receive a 100. This project will count as 2 test grades. Do your very best!</p><p>5. Your finished project will be either a poster (minimum size 12” x 18”) or shoebox diorama with the required information shown in some way or another (words, pictures, drawings, graphics, charts, and/or maps). Your research notes must also be turned in.
