Teach two courses. One of the courses must have at least 8 students enrolled. B. Pursue a professional development plan which incorporates the unique resources and opportunities available in the Yucatan. Central College faculty are asked to submit to the Off-Campus Programs Committee and the Provost a brief final report summarizing their professional development plan and actions upon their return. C. Improve Spanish language proficiency. D. Participate in the life of the program. E. Assist Central College Abroad in recruiting students who will participate in the program and attend the pre- departure orientation.</p><p>PLEASE SUBMIT ON A SEPARATE PAGE:</p><p>1. Briefly describe your interest in the Yucatán program and any previous experiences you feel are relevant to your successful performance in the program.</p><p>2. Describe the courses you propose to offer in Yucatán. Discuss their relevance to the Yucatán setting. How would you work to encourage your majors and advisees to participate? What teaching strategies, resources or support would you need to offer them? New courses require Curriculum Committee approval prior to departure.</p><p>3. Discuss how your on-campus teaching, advising, and other duties will be covered during your time away.</p><p>4. Discuss specific plans for professional development, research, your desire for a cross-cultural experience, and anything else you feel is relevant to your situation.</p><p>5. Briefly discuss your Spanish language ability or plans to work on Spanish prior to departure for the Yucatán. Teaching faculty are expected to work on Spanish at the appropriate level while in Yucatán.</p><p>What questions and concerns do you have about this program? How can the Central College Abroad office, the Yucatán faculty liaison, or the Yucatán program director assist?</p><p>COMPENSATION: Selected faculty members will receive up to $1200 travel allowance, to be used by the faculty member or their family members. IPD money (or other appropriate college funding for non-Central faculty) can also be used for the faculty member’s travel expenses. Faculty and their families will be provided room and board.</p><p>Return to Chair of OCPC or Brian Zylstra.</p>
