<p>MEDIA ALERT For Immediate Release For more information, contact: Molly Weisgram Common Hope/Familias de Esperanza 651-917-0917 mollyw@us.commonhope.org</p><p>Minneapolis Photographer Buck Holzemer Inspires Individuals to Help Children in Guatemala</p><p>Minneapolis, MN – [August 18, 2009] – On Friday, August 21, Minneapolis photographer and director Buck Holzemer will present his portrait exhibit, "Guatemalan Children," at the Weinstein Gallery in Minneapolis. Holzemer traveled to Guatemala this spring to photograph over 250 children living in poverty. His portraits portray the innocence, hope and hardships of the children's lives in a beautiful and very honest way. </p><p>All 250 of the featured children are affiliated with nonprofit Common Hope. Through Common Hope, these children receive funding to attend school, and their entire families receive access to health care, better housing, and opportunities to create a better life for themselves. All 250 children are in need of Sponsors to help fund this support.</p><p>Over 60 portraits will be exhibited along with a 4 x 6 ft. photo featuring all 250 children. The event is organized as a sponsorship event, connecting interested donors with children who need their support. Prints will be available to anyone who sponsors a child that evening. The event will be hosted by former Sun Country CEO Shaun Nugent and his wife, Chris Denton. Shaun and Chris have two adopted children from Guatemala and have been Common Hope Sponsors since 2007. </p><p>Holzemer’s series “Guatemalan Boys” is in the third and final round of the jurying process at the 2009 International Photography Awards.
