<p> Final Assignment, Of Mice and Men</p><p>You may choose one of the following assignments for your final essay/project grade in this class. For whichever assignment you choose, the assignment is worth 100 points, and is due FRIDAY, MAY 27th</p><p>The assignment will concern the major themes that are exhibited in this novel. The topics for these themes are as follow: Isolation and Loneliness in life The American Dream The Impact of Prejudice in Society </p><p>1. Create and post a You Tube Video depicting an analysis of ONE major theme in this novel. The presentation must include a. A written explanation of the theme b. pictures or depictions of all the major characters that help develop the theme in the novel c. One song for each character that fits that character. d. A written explanation for why each song was chosen for each character e. 5 quotes from the novella that exemplify the development of your chosen theme. </p><p>2. Develop a positive female character for this novella, since it lacks this. This project must include: a. A description (physical, and physiological) of your character (1/2-1 page) b. An outline of who she is, why she is in the story, and how you would fit her into the story (1 page outline) c. 5 rewritten scenes in which you have added the new character to the book (Copy the places in the book you think she will fit, and add her dialogue and actions into the story) (1-2 written pages)</p><p>3. Write a standard 5 paragraph essay that responds to the following prompt: a. In Of Mice and Men, the characters are all lonely. Choose any two characters and discuss why they are lonely and how they deal with their isolation and loneliness. Does there seem to be a realistic solution for them to escape this isolation and loneliness or not? </p>
