Data Files Browser

IMS Browser

The IMS (Information Management System) browser displays information about IMS entities that exist in your source code. By using this browser, you can cross-reference IMS DBDs, data sets, IMS PSB's, and IMS transactions.

The IMS Browser was enhanced by adding DBD as a search type. The DBD will then expand to Databases with segments underneath showing all the usages for an IMS segment. In the case of GSAM databases or where identifying the segment was not possible, the usages are displayed directly under the database node.

Dataset: Data files specifically for IMS and defined in the DBD and PSB, usages shown in COBOL and other components, where there exists.

DBD:

This displays the IMS Database Definition and IMS Segments for IMS statements. Only one database can be defined in any one input data set. PSB Browser:

IMS Program Specification Block. Only one PSB can be defined in a single input data set.

Transaction Browser: IMS Transactions that are defined in the MFS are displayed here.

Program Browser: In the Program Browser, there was a change made to the database folder.
