<p> Youth Radio Job Announcement Multimedia Instructor – Photo, Video, Online</p><p>Description: Youth Radio is seeking a part-time Multimedia Instructor for our training programs. The instructor will be responsible for teaching photo, video, and social media skills to students ages 14-18. The ideal candidate will have a love of working with young people, online media and storytelling. </p><p>The Multimedia Instructor will work with a diverse team of teachers to implement our media and digital technology training. This position holds principal oversight of the training for Youth Radio’s multimedia (photo/video/online/graphic design) track, as well as oversees the work of interns and Project Associates -peer youth educators –that teach for the program. Applicants with experience working with Bay Area youth from different backgrounds are encouraged to apply. </p><p>This is a 21 hour/week part-time, contract position that reports to the Director of Media Education</p><p>Responsibilities:  Classroom instruction for Youth Radio’s multimedia track  Teach camera skills, photo editing, graphic design, social media, and video production to groups of 5-12 students  Supervise team of peer youth educators  Evaluate student and peer youth educator projects  Adapt and facilitate curricula specific to youth teaching cohort  Incorporate media literacy into multimedia curriculum  Edit students’ work for accuracy and professionalism  Maintain classroom and building rules and a safe a professional learning/working environment  Model professionalism </p><p>Work Experience Requirements:  Multimedia Teaching Experience (photo, video and graphic design preferred) in classroom or community settings with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field  Familiarity with WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, Professional camera equipment and set- up  Demonstrated classroom management skills  Youth Development Practitioner Experience</p><p>Education Requirements: BA/BS or teaching credential preferred but not required Position/Salary:  This position reports to the Director of Media Education  25 hours per week (part-time) o Must be available 3-7pm Monday – Thursday and 3-8pm Fridays  Salary commensurate on experience</p><p>Submission Package: At a minimum, all applications should include:  Cover Letter  Resume</p><p>Contact: Please send requirements to [email protected].
