Sports Gambling (p. 399) – Friday April 27th Topics must be chosen by March 8th/9th Presentations will begin the week of April 2 nd </p><p>Mark Checklist</p><p>Item to be marked Marks 3 sources of research (a least 2 print sources in addition to the /6 textbook). Sources to be cited according to the current MLA format in your /6 agenda. The hand-out is a summary of the main points in your research. Your /10 2 page summary hand-out to class is detailed, well written with proper grammar/punctuation, typed in 12 pt font. Ten bullets indicating your ten most important points must be clearly listed. The rest of the hand- out should have space under each point so that your classmates can write notes on the expansion of each point. The presentation is well organized and expands on the 10 most /20 important issues in regards to your topic. The impact on sport in Canada and/or internationally is included in these 10 points. Any relevant psycho-social issues are explored in the 10 points. The information in this presentation is accurate and has a logical /4 sequence. The presenter does not read from the paper or powerpoint but /4 demonstrates that they have thorough knowledge about their topic. Cue cards or speaking notes are allowed as long as they are only referred to and not read from. The presenter uses interactive tools such as technology, games and /4 other methods to make the presentation interesting and interactive. The presentation is between 15 – 20 minutes in length /3 A hard-copy of your 2 page hand-out is submitted to the teacher the /2 class before your presentation. This is so the teacher has time to review the hand-out and make photocopies for the class. A hard-copy of the work cited must be submitted the class before your /2 presentation. An electronic word document of your 10 question multiple choice quiz /10 is placed in the course drop box the class before the presentation An electronic-word document of the hand-out with expanded points /4 (answer key) is placed in the course drop box the class before the presentation The presenter is well dressed, speaks confidently and is well prepared /5 Total Marks 80</p><p>Attendance is mandatory during all presentations. Two tests will be given at the end of the first and second half of the presentations. No photocopies will be given to absent students accept in extreme circumstances. The presentations you should focus on for the exam will be narrowed down during moratorium. </p>
